Aiming for maiden Group success
FRESH from registering a personal milestone, talented young driver Zara Fitzpatrick is hoping for another tonight.
A fortnight ago Fitzpatrick partnered Cee Cee In Paris to victory in the Foundation Final at Club Menangle, with the feature doubling as the 17-year-old's maiden metropolitan success.
Poised to return to the world class venue this evening, Fitzpatrick will once again take the reins behind Cee Cee In Paris, this time in the $50,000 New South Wales Trot Final.
As such, Fitzpatrick is aiming for her first Group triumph.
"It was very exciting to get my first city win," Fitzpatrick said. "Especially because mum trains Cee Cee In Paris...it is a win I will always remember.
"To get a Group win tonight though would be amazing!"
Despite beating a similar field last time around, Cee Cee In Paris is on the second line of betting at $2.25 from barrier three.
Unplaced behind Cee Cee In Paris, Gladiatrix is a $1.70 favourite from gate four.
Winner of her four previous starts, Gladiatrix galloped out of contention as a $1.50 hotshot, but has since won a trial in easy fashion.
"Paris has been working really well since her last start," Fitzpatrick said. "Her work is as good as ever, I can't fault her.
"If she does everything right, Gladiatrix will be extremely hard to beat."
