CHAMPION trainer Emma Stewart had no trouble adding another Derby to her impressive collection last night.

Heading into the Globe Derby meeting, Stewart had captured 13 state Derbys during the past decade, including training the first four across the finish in Victoria's Blue Riband a fortnight ago.

Stewart's haul broke down to one in Queensland, two in Tasmania, three in New South Wales, four in Victoria and three in South Australia.

One of her SA triumphs came last season with Our Vinnie, with her latest success via Meteor Moth providing Stewart with consecutive wins in the feature.

"We traditionally have a strong team of young horses, so races like the Derbys are what we aim for," Stewart said. "To enjoy the success we have in those races is amazing and particularly satisfying for our owners.

"That said, we enjoy having a team racing in Adelaide during their carnivals and to pick up a win is always satisfying and makes the trip worthwhile."

Driven by Allan McDonough, Meteor Moth led throughout from barrier two to score by 11-and-a-half metres from local hope Bay Jim Major.

Wild Bull - prepared by former 'Croweater' Greg Norman - was a metre-and-a-half away third.

"He had an ideal draw and was able to make the most of it," Stewart said. "The Derby was a perfect target for him as we felt he was a class above them and he won accordingly."

Bred and owned by Len Parker, the son of American Ideal rated 1:55.4 over 2240 metres to take his record to an impressive six wins from seven starts for earnings of $44,986.
