APG purchase captures The Meadows feature
AUSTRALIAN mare Amelias Courage seated Just Zip It from the gate and kept her there through the wire as she captured last night’s co-feature at The Meadows.
When Amelias Courage clicked off the back half in 56 seconds over a “good” surface for Chris Shaw, Just Zip It could not cut into the lead and fell two lengths short in the 1:52.4 mile.
The first-over Ellasen raced well for show.
Richard Perfido trains Amelias Courage which registered her 22nd win and lifted her bankroll to $222,415, for Win Rhythm Stables.
Amelias Courage was originally an Australian Pacing Gold purchase before being sold to international interests.
In the other co-feature, Luvcrunchess moved powerfully first over and romped home in 1:55.4 for Aaron Merriman, trainer Steven Walters and owner PT Stable.
Mike Wilder and Merriman each piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
