APG purchase too slick at The Meadowlands
AUSTRALIAN Pacing Gold purchase Amelia’s Courage equalled her best time with a narrow win at The Meadows last night.
After stalking the leader from the pocket Amelias Courage captured the Filly and Mare Open Handicap Pace in 1:51.3.
Blue Ivy engaged the front-ending Lakeisha Hall down the backside and finally edged past her at the top of the lane.
But when Dan Rawlings pointed Amelia’s Courage to the inside, she proved the freshest of the trio, downing Blue Ivy by a neck. Lakeisha Hall saved show.
Richard Perfido trains Amelia’s Courage which boasts $153,565 in earnings for Thomas Mattingly.
Last November the daughter of Courage Under Fire enjoyed almost an identical trip behind the pacemaker before winning in 1:51.3 at The Meadowlands.
Dave Palone, Mike Wilder and trainer Ron Burke each fashioned a four-bagger on the 15-race card.
