Australia's latest millionaire almost goes unnoticed
Mach Dan with Newcastle Mile

AUSTRALIA'S latest pacer to join the Millionaire's Club almost went unnoticed.

Thanks to his third in last Saturday night's Victoria Cup in Melton, Mach Dan took his earnings past the magical figure.

The result of 28 wins and 17 placings from 81 starts, Mach Dan's bankroll sits at $1,009,935.

Successful upon debut in February 2019, Mach Dan captured the Group Two Sapling Stake at Club Menangle during his following outing.

The son of Mach Three registered his first Group One triumph - also in Menangle - by securing the 2020 New South Wales Breeders' Challenge Final.

GAMMALITE was the first Australian-bred pacer to win $1million

Mach Dan's new status makes him the 47th Australian-bred pacer to pass $1million in earnings and the third for trainer Emma Stewart.

Encipher was Stewart's first thanks to her The Eureka triumph in Menangle last season before being joined by Ladies In Red earlier this year.

The immortal Gammalite was the first Australian pacer to reach seven figures when he won the Golden Mile at Harold Park on October 28, 1983.

Amazingly, Gammalite joined thoroughbreds, Kingston Town ($1,605,790) and Manikato ($1,154,210), as the only horses in Australia to have achieved the feat!
