'Away team' gets the job done

PREMIER Victorian trainer Emma Stewart should have no trouble extending her highly-successful interstate assaults tonight.

Enjoying no luck close to home in Melton last night, Stewart was triumphant in New South Wales and South Australia.

Capturing a Derby heat with Meteor Moth at Globe Derby, Stewart notched a treble at Club Menangle with Oliver Dan, War Dan Buddy and Renewal winning New South Wales Breeders' Challenge semi-finals.

"Things didn't go too well for us in Melton, but I was very pleased with the efforts from the away team," Stewart said. "They all went well and will be in perfect condition for their Finals next week.

"Hopefully the remainder of the travellers can get the job done tonight."

As for the next phase of her interstate campaign, Stewart has four runners engaged in Launceston, including two prohibitive favourites.

Unbeaten from seven starts for Stewart - including six on the Apple Isle - Waterfront is a $1.07 TAB Fixed Odds hot shot from barrier two in the second event.

Boasting five wins and a third from six outings under Stewart's care, How Sweet is a $1.12 TAB Fixed Odds favourite from the pole in the following race.

Stewart has two runners in the fourth, with Freeasabyrd on the second line of betting at $2.60 from gate four and Free To Play at $4.40 from barrier three.

Drawn ideally in the pole, Binalong Week heads the market at $1.75 for trainer Craig Turnbull.
