QUEENSLAND ace Grant Dixon hopes his return to the Australian Drivers' Championship will net the same result as the previous time he contested the series.

Part of the action in 2015, Dixon beat a host of the nation's top drivers in Tasmania to claim the title.

On Sunday Dixon will again clash with an assembly of stars, this time in South Australia.

A dozen drivers - two from each state - will battle over 10 heats at Globe Derby for the honour of the nation's best for 2024.

Dixon will form Team Queensland with defending champion Nathan Dawson.

"I'm looking forward to getting over to Adelaide," Dixon said. "I haven't been in the series since I won it, so hopefully my record can stay intact and I come away with the win again.

"Either way, it will be a lot of fun."

Stating it is "too difficult" to select the driver to beat, Dixon gave Victorian James Herbertson a mention.

Herbertson secured the 2022 edition at Globe Derby.

"Every driver in the series is ultra-competitive and a star, so you can't really pick one out as the one to beat," Dixon said. "A lot will come down to drawing the right stock and barriers.

"James seems to be in hot form at the moment, so anything he drives will be a solid chance!

"Overall, I'm looking forward to the comradery and enjoying my time there."
