IT’S hard to wipe the smile off the face of an owner when she or he is a winner at the best of times.

Hand them a bonus cheque - just for winning - and it suddenly becomes a day to remember.

Bonus cheques for winners who are members of the NSW Standardbred Owners Association have been one of the success stories of recent years in the Premier State [NSW].

And the good news is the bonus races at 12 different racing venues will be on again from next month.

All you need to be eligible to win is for the owner to be a financial member of the NSWSOA prior nominating for the bonus races.

The Bonus races will begin on August 24 at Albury and will run at various meetings until, and including, Penrith on November 11.

At this stage the NSWSOA has 12 meetings planned.

They are:

The conditions of the race are as follows:

1)         The owner MUST be a financial member of the NSWSOA prior to nominating for the bonus races;

2)         No bonus will be paid if the owner is a non-member of the NSWSOA;

3)         If part of a syndicate, the manager of the syndication MUST be a financial member of the NSWSOA prior to nomination;

4)         Four races at each meeting will offer bonus money with preference to 2-y-o, 3-y-o, maiden and/or lowest grade race of the meeting, in that order;

5)         If a trotters’ race is programmed for a particular meeting, the trotters’ race will take preference and then 2-y-o, 3-y-o or lowest grade, in that order.

So, if you want your horse eligible for the chance of winning the bonus you can join the NSWSOA by going to their website: www.nswsoa.com.au and become a member.

It should be noted that only one voucher will be issued per winning horse which is owned or managed by a member of the NSWSOA.
