BREEDERS’ Crown finalists will race for Group 2 honours in November’s futurity series, with greater payments increasing the stakes.

The eight Finals will be a part of the November 16 card at Melton, with the Saturday night also featuring the $75,000 VHRC Caduceus Classic and $50,000 Australian Trotting Grand Prix for free-for-all pacers and trotters.

In July, Harness Racing Victoria announced the Breeders’ Crown would be raced as a futurities-only series. Better-than-forecast entries have meant there will be more prizemoney for participants to compete for.

The following will race for $100,000 Finals:

  • Lather Up @ Woodland Stud Breeders’ Crown final for three-year-old pacing colts and geldings
  • Nutrien Equine Breeders’ Crown final for three-year-old pacing fillies
  • IRT Breeders’ Crown final for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings
  • Pebble Beach Breeders’ Crown final for two-year-old pacing fillies

The following will race for $60,000 Finals:

  • Hygain Breeders’ Crown final for three-year-old trotting colts and geldings
  • Hyland Harness Colours Breeders’ Crown final for three-year-old trotting fillies

And the following will race for $50,000 Finals:

  • Betavet Breeders’ Crown final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings
  • Mimosa Homes Breeders’ Crown final for two-year-old trotting fillies

The series will kick off with trotting heats at Bendigo on November 6, and pacing heats at Melton on November 8. As announced in July, both series are now heats into Finals.
