Campaign kicked off in sensational fashion
SOUTH Australia's leading ladies have begun this year's Team Teal campaign in sensational fashion.
Always strong contributors to the worthy cause, SA's shining lights are part of a super squad which includes every Australian and New Zealand reinswoman.
Between February 1 and March 15, the women don specially-designed teal driving pants to raise awareness and valuable funds for ANZGOG.
The Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group is the peak national gynaecological cancer research group in Australia and New Zealand, which have conducted world-leading clinical trials research for more than two decades.
ANZGOG's mission is to improve outcomes and quality of life for everyone with a lived experience of gynaecological cancer by conducting and promoting clinical trials and multidisciplinary research.
Harness racing's reinswoman not only raise awareness via the teal pants and much-needed publicity, but desperately-required funds through donations made for each win during the campaign.
Harness Racing SA along with corporate sponsors pledge the funds, as does each state's governing body and industry partners.
With 10 races at Globe Derby last night, Team SA captured half the card!
Sam Hill led the way with a double, with support coming from Gaita Pullicino, Lisa Ryan and Hill's sister-in-law, Dani.
Females prepared three of the other five races won but reinsmen, however, training wins are not part of the campaign.
"It's all the more special to get some wins during the teal pants campaign," Hill said. "Every win helps draw attention to, and raise money for, the cause.
"It's a wonderful charity to be supporting and I, like all the reinswomen in Australia and New Zealand, will be doing my best to try and keep the winners flowing."
