Can he join this trio of greats?
PALEFACE Adios, Courage Under Fire and Captain Joy.
Along with being multiple Group One winners, the trio have another accomplishment in common - they are the only pacers to make a clean sweep of the east coast Derbys.
Australia's oldest classic, the Victoria Derby was first run in 1914, when captured by Lucap.
Royal Van secured New South Wales' inaugural Derby in 1930 before Queensland's maiden Blue Riband was won by Elbjay in 1969.

As for the three stars mention earlier, Paleface Adios became the first to collect all three in 1973 before Courage Under Fire followed suit in 1999.
Captain Joy became the third after dominating his age group in 2009.
At Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night, Queenslander Leap To Fame will aim to join the trio as he contests the Victoria Derby.
As you can surmise, the Australian Pacing Gold purchase has already won the New South Wales and Queensland Derbys!
Runner-up in his heat last weekend, Leap To Fame has drawn barrier five in the $200,000 Final.
"It will be some pretty esteem company he is in if he can win on Saturday night," Dixon said. "I was pleased with his run in the heat as he hadn't raced in a month and also travelled down to Melton.
"He has settled in perfectly this week and his work has lifted, so he couldn't be in better shape going into this.
"Coming out of five can be a bit tricky, but it also gives me some options."
TAB Fixed Odds have the colt listed as the $3 second favourite, with Captain Ravishing, which beat Leap To Fame in the qualifier, a $1.65 despite drawing the back line.
"Captain Ravishing is clearly the one to beat," Dixon said.
"I think we may have struck a real superstar in him."
