FALLING well short of the fanfare afforded to her famous sister despite building a solid record of her own, Perfect In Pink remains on target to one match one of her famous older sibling's feats.

In fact, Perfect In Pink is aiming to match two of her siblings in coming weeks.

Successful in a Breeders' Crown heat last weekend, Perfect In Pink is engaged in the second semi at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.

Should all go according to plan, the Emma Stewart-trained filly will then contest the Group One Final the following week.

By American Ideal from grand producing mare Kabbalah Karen B, the two-year-old is a half-sister wonder mare, Ladies In Red, and former outstanding youngster, Our Little General.

Widely-regarded as one of the best mares produced on this side of the equator, Ladies In Red was victorious in the 2020 and '21 Crowns.

Our Little General was triumphant in the 2016 and '17 editions.

Heading into the two-year-old division Ladies In Red was unbeaten from six starts and has since taken her record to 21 wins and five seconds from 26 outings for earnings of $868,020.

With six starts to her name Perfect In Pink has registered three wins and two seconds.

Fresh from running the New York Marathon earlier this week, Kate Gath will be back to partner Perfect In Pink from barrier four.

Perfect In Pink will be joined in the semi by her stablemates Spring Blue, Tiffs Little Sister and Major Delight, which is undefeated from seven starts.

"It's a bit much to try and compare her to Ladies In Red, but she is a handy filly in her own right," Stewart said. "She has come along nicely and is certainly capable of winning a big race on her night."

Later on the card another half-sister - Our Little Jet - will compete in a semi for three-year-old fillies.

Winner of the Fillies' Classic two starts ago, Our Little Jet was unplaced in her heat after working overtime in the 'death seat'.

Our Little Jet is one of six stablemates in the field, with the squad headed by defending champion Encipher.
