Classy mare on the market

ALTHOUGH she hasn't been officially advertised, classy mare Into The Harkness is on the market.

Despite "having a lot of fun" with the daughter of Restrepo, Into The Harkness' 'For Sale' status stems from her ownership group's "buy them, race them, flip them" philosophy.

Since being purchased by the syndicate Into The Harkness has had 12 starts for six wins and two placings, with her latest victory coming in Ararat last night.

Naturally thrilled with Into The Harkness' progress, co-trainer Shaun McNaulty revealed his plans for the four-year-old, which include being "moved on".

"She has been a good buy and we're having a lot of fun with her," McNaulty said. "But the ownership group likes to buy, race and flip them, so she is nearly ready to be moved on.

"We haven't advertised her, but she is on the market.

"Until she is sold, we'll keep racing her and having fun watching her go around."

Driven by James Herbertson during her latest victory, Into The Harkness worked to the lead from barrier four before scoring from Keayang Seaside and James Garner.

Rating 1:57.8 over 1790 metres, Into The Harkness set the standard for the Final in Terang on September 1.

"I knew she would run a good race, but I wouldn't say I was confident given there were some nice ones in the field," McNaulty said. "When she found the front though, I was pretty confident she'd hold them off."
