Classy mare ready to shine
SHINING since returning from a short break, Lux Aeterna is expected to burn brightly again this weekend.
Luckless during her parts of Queensland campaign in July and August, Lux Aeterna was given a well-needed spell by trainer Rickie Alchin upon her return to New South Wales.
Scoring first-up at Club Menangle on October 3, the daughter of Captaintreacherous was then runner-up before securing a $50,000 feature at the world class venue a fortnight ago.
Poised to head back to Club Menangle on Saturday night, Lux Aeterna will tackle the Sue Kelly Ladyship Stake.
Although drawn barrier 10 - the outside of the front row - in the Listed Classic, the four-year-old is a $1.45 TAB Fixed Odds favourite.
The only other runner under double figures, Pandaia is considered the main danger at $3.50 from gate nine.
Also prepared by Alchin, Pandaia has had two starts since a spell and is predicted to be at her peak.
Although faring better than her stablemates in barrier three, Playa Blanca is among the outsiders at $34.
Playa Blanca is fresh from a Penrith triumph last week where she led throughout in 1:55.8 over 2125 metres.
Elsewhere on the card, Alchin will be represented by Force Full which will begin from gate seven over 2300 metres.
A consistent performer, with a pair of thirds from his last three starts, Force Full is considered midfield in early betting markets.
