Confidence high despite draw

Confidence high despite draw
BAY OF BISCAY

A WIDE draw has done nothing to dent Emma Stewart's confidence with Bay Of Biscay ahead of tonight's The Eureka at Club Menangle.

Runner-up as a three-year-old in last season's edition of the $2.1million slot race, Bay Of Biscay is back to go one better.

TAB Fixed Odds believe the exceptionally-bred son of Somebeachsomewhere can achieve the feat, listing him as a $3.60 favourite.

To etch his name on the honour roll, Bay Of Biscay will have to overcome barrier nine.

Stewart has four runners in the elite field, but still rates Bay Of Biscay as her best prospect despite the awkward starting position.

"The draw is what it is," Stewart said. "It's not ideal, but not the end of the world either.

"He is feeling terrific, couldn't be better going into the race and I think he is still our best chance."

Bay Of Biscay will be joined by his stablemates Fox Dan, Go Miki and Miki To Success.

Winner of his last three starts, Fox Dan has fared best in barrier five, with Go Miki to come from six - the widest of the three-year-olds - with Miki To Success to come out of 10.

"We are happy with all of them," Stewart said. "Each can win with the right run.

"We'll just have to see how the race turns out."
