CONNECTIONS of Honolua Bay hope his recent Inter Dominion ties are an omen for later the year.

Establishing himself as arguably Australia's most exciting pacer this campaign, Honolua Bay is unbeaten from three starts this season, with his winning streak since joining Emma Stewart's stable sitting at a perfect eight.

It's Honolua Bay latest two wins which have everyone involved with the the five-year-old daring to dream about the time-honoured Championship.

Due to begin with heats in Ballarat on November 26, the Inter Dominion is Honolua Bay's main target, though his schedule also including next month's Victoria Cup.

As for the gelding's recent victories, they have been features named in honour of Inter Dominion winners - Westburn Grant and Minuteman.

Honolua Bay captured the former's event on August 13 before securing the latter's at Tabcorp Park Melton last night.

"He has the Victoria Cup first, but the Inter Dominion is where we are heading," Stewart said. "There are some other races in between we'll be looking at as well, but those are the two main priorities."

Driven by Mark Pitt, Honolua Bay was settled midfield from his second row draw before being angled three-wide to find the lead.

Although issued a moderate challenge from Lochinvar Art in the 'death seat' during the middle stages, Honolua Bay was never in danger of being beaten as he completed a four-and-a-half metre win from Torrid Saint.

Tango Tara was a metre away third.

Rating 1:53.8 over 2240 metres, the son of Somebeachsomewhere took his record to 17 wins and two placings from 24 starts.
