POISED to make his South Australian debut, Bellezza Nera may prove to be the omen bet of the weekend.

Italian for 'black beauty', Bellezza Nera is engaged in tomorrow night's Italian Cup at Globe Derby.

Impressed with the gelding's track work since his arrival last month, top horseman David Harding is quietly confident Bellezza Nera can provide an instant reward for new owner, Lachlan Cormack.

"He was racing against some pretty good company in Perth and was competitive," Harding said.

"He's got a couple of wins and a second from his last eight starts which were in metro grade...that should hold up well here.

"His work has been quite good and he trialled really well recently, so I am happy with where he is at."

To be driven by Dani Hill, Bellezza Nera has drawn to search for the lead from barrier four, which has resulted in him being listed as a $2.50 favourite.

Springfield Affair is considered the main danger at $2.80 from the inside of the second row.

"He does have a bit of speed from the mobile, so we'll be looking to go forward with him," Harding said. "If he does find the front, he is going to be hard to run down.

"Springfield Affair and Delightful Tammy are both racing well and are the pair to beat."
