Domination taken to another level
ALREADY boasting a phenomenal Vicbred record, Emma Stewart took her domination to another level last night.
Fresh from winning five of the seven two-year-old heats in which she had a runner in Bendigo 24 hours earlier, Stewart completed a clean sweep of the three-year-old division in Kilmore.
By capturing all eight qualifiers, Stewart became just the second trainer to win every race on a card!
Shayne Cramp was the first to achieve the feat when he blitzed the Mildura meeting on July 15, 2014.
In April 2022, Stewart went close to completing the card when she won nine of the 10 races in Launceston.
Under the race conditions, Stewart was ineligible for the 'other' event, giving her a perfect record from nine races!
"We had a very strong card last night, and although you like to think they can all win, you never really expect to win every race at the meeting," Stewart said.
"To achieve such a result is wonderful for the stable, but more importantly, it is terrific for our owners."
Such is the depth of Stewart's team she was represented by seven of the eight favourites, but three of her winners toppled the public elects.
Sir Jimmy kick-started the evening by scoring at $6 to beat his $1.55 stablemate, Some American.
War Dan Buddy followed suit in the next event, winning as a $10 shot while his $1.20 stablemate, Stormryder, was runner-up.
Later in the evening Eureka Jo paid $34 as she upset the David Thorn-trained $1.20 favourite, Ever Art.
Stewart's remaining winners, Best Deal, Miki To Success, Showsomejoy, Draw A Dream and Kiss were all odds-on.
Adding to Stewart's night, she prepared two trifectas, three quinellas and a pair of thirds.
As for Stewart's incredible Vicbred performances, since 2018 the record-breaking horsewoman has won 129 of the 202 pacing qualifiers in which she has had a runner.
During the same period, Stewart has captured 25 Group One Finals.
"Our stable is predominantly Vicbred horses, so naturally we have a strong focus on the series," Stewart said. “They all put in good runs and hopefully they can do the same in the semis and make their way into the Finals.”
