TWO of the three youngsters offered by Benger breeder Westover in the 2025 APG Perth Yearling Sale on March 2 will be eligible for double Westbred bonuses and the Westsired classics in 2026.

The lucrative Westbred bonus scheme is available to two and three-year-old horses born in WA, in addition to the race stakes.

If the youngster is by a WA-based sire, the incentive is doubled.

Westover’s first offering, Lot 305, is a filly by exciting young WA stallion Captain Ahab from unraced Life Sign mare Soho Paris, which has already produced four winners.

She is the dam of tough campaigner Four Starzzz Forsa (1.52.6, $223K), a winner of 27 races – five as a two and three-year-old.

Soho Paris is a half-sister to Victoria Legends Mile winner and Victoria Derby placegetter It Is I (1.56.4, $208K) and two-year-old Seymour Nursery (Group One) winner La Speranza (1.59, $155K).

This filly’s second dam, New Arrival, produced nine winners of 105 races and more than $730,000 in stakes.

It is the family of Victoria Derby placegetter Caesar Augustus (1.54.5, $223K), which won six races as a two-year-old including the Group Two NSW Sapling Stakes.

Another top two-year-old from the family is Bathurst Gold Crown winner Tardelli (P2,1.53, $167K), who won seven races in his juvenile year.

Westover’s second double Westbred youngster is Lot 473, a colt by Advance Attack from unraced mare Fiftycalgal.

The dam is by Grinfromeartoear and is a half -sister to Geelong Cup winner General Dodge (1.53.4, $191K), which won 16 of his 26 starts.

The Courage Under Fire gelding had just three starts as a three-year-old, winning twice, but developed into a potent open class pacer in the next two seasons.

He won a heat and semi-final of the four-year-old Vicbred series.

After an extended layoff he returned with free-for-all wins at Geelong and Melton before finishing second to Triple Eight in the Group One Caduceus Classic in 2021 and eighth in the Victoria Cup.

He went on to win the Group Two Geelong Cup and Group Two Yarra Valley Cup.

This colt’s grandam produced five winners and is a half-sister to eight winners, including outstanding mare Party Date (1.56, $256K).

The third offering from Westover is Lot 472, a filly by $5million earner McWicked from Jeremes Jet mare Eastern Jet, who is the dam of three winners from her first three foals, including two-year-old Western Crown winner Seven No Trumps (P2, 1.56.6, $113K) and Alfredi (1.58, $102K).
