Draw no threat to undefeated record
Always Hot

A DIFFICULT draw is expected to have no effect on boom youngster Always Hot's bid to maintain his perfect record during the weekend.

Undefeated from four two-year-old starts, Always Hot was sent for a well-earned break following his Group One Vicbred Super Series success in Melton last September.

A recent trial winner, the Emma Stewart-trained colt is poised to make his return at the same venue in Saturday night's Caduceus Classic.

"He did very well during his time off and has come back in terrific shape," Stewart said. "He had a good hit out at the trials a couple of weeks ago, where he ran his last quarter in 25.9 seconds, and his work has been sharp since.

"We are very happy with his progress and expect a big run from him."

Despite drawing barrier six, the well-bred pacer is a $1.30 TAB Fixed Odds favourite, with Forty Love considered the main threat at $5.50.

Prepared by astute horseman Aaron Dunn, Forty Love will begin from gate five.

Stewart will also be represented by Fairplay, which has drawn the inside of the second row.

Among the placegetters during his two starts this campaign, Fairplay is on the third row of betting at $9.50.

"Fairplay is a nice type in his own right," Stewart said. "The draw hasn't exactly made it easy, but with the right run, he can play a role in the finish."
