Drought-breaker the beginning of a flood!
LINXX

CONNECTIONS of Linxx hope his recent drought-breaking victory is the beginning of a 'flood'.

Scoring in Port Pirie on December 23, Linxx registered his first win since December 4, 2023 when successful in Mildura for Kate Attard.

The son of A Rocknroll Dance has undergone three stable changes during the interim, with his Port Pirie win coming for veteran horseman, Keith Routley.

"It was almost two years to the day since he won," trainer Routley said. "He'd been runner-up in two of his three starts before that, so I knew a win wasn't far away."

To Routley and owner Sharon Pettit's delight, Linxx backed-up his triumph with a win at Globe Derby at his next outing.

"To get two wins in a row with him is terrific," Routley said. "He only just got there both times, but he got there, which is what counts.

"Like I said, he'd been building up to those wins, so they didn't exactly come as a surprise, but certainly were welcome."

Poised to return to Globe Derby tomorrow night, Linxx faces a far more difficult task from the outside of the back row.

Not to forget the rise in class!

"He's got a job ahead of him from that draw," Routley said. "He won't disgrace himself, but a lot will depend on where he lobs in the run.

"It's a bit of a stronger field this time and Bronte Giorgio's three-year-old (Centrefold Star) is pretty smart...she's definitely the one to beat."

Boasting four wins and two seconds from eight starts, Centrefold Star has drawn to lead throughout from barrier three.

The daughter of Poster Boy is fresh from a win against older company at the same venue earlier this week.
