RAVISHING SLOY

BEFORE Ravishing Sloy's debut for Kevin Pizzuto a fortnight ago the Inter Dominion winning trainer made a bold prediction about the three-year-old.

"We bought him because he's a very nice type and I have no doubt he is only gong to get better," Pizzuto declared.

"The impression he has given me so far suggests he will be competitive at the top level and is capable of winning a big race."

Scoring first-up for Pizzuto in 1:53.1 over a mile at Club Menangle, Ravishing Sloy was back at the world class venue yesterday.

Not only did the son of Bettors Delight prove too good once again, he lowered his mark to 1:50.8.

With Jack Brown in the cart, Ravishing Sloy led from barrier five before being eased to take a trail behind the favourite, Dangerous Threats.

Reclaiming the front halfway along the home straight, the gelding dashed to a two-metre win from Miki Be Good, with Dangerous Threats five-and-a-half metres away third.

"His work between his two starts had really lifted, so I expected him to be hard to beat," Pizzuto said.
"That was a Breeders' Challenge heat, so we will look at the Final late next month.

"I also plan on taking him down for the Victoria Derby heats in a couple of weeks, then hopefully the Final on October 12 before the Challenge Final a fortnight later, so he has a busy month ahead of him."
