Exciting pacer continuing comeback
CAPTAIN RAVISHING

MAKING a triumphant return last week, exciting pacer Captain Ravishing will attempt to continue his climb to the top on Saturday night.

First-up from a 10-month break, Captain Ravishing completed an impressive win by covering the mile in 1:52.5 in Geelong.

Rapt with the Group One winner's performance, trainer Freddy Taiba wasted no time stating Captain Ravishing is on his way back to his brilliant best.

As such, Taiba has set his sights on key targets such a the Kilmore Cup on September 27 followed by the Victoria Cup a fortnight later.

"Everything has been spot on with him this time in," Taiba said. "I couldn't be happier with his progress.

"Last week was a good starting point for him, and not only did he pull up a treat, his work has sharpened right up.

"If he keeps progressing the way he ha been, there is no doubt we will see the best of him this campaign."

Set to step up to free-for-all company in Melton, Captain Ravishing has drawn to go forward from barrier five.

With David Miles to take the reins, the son of Captaintreacherous is a $1.90 favourite.

"It would've been nicer if he drew closer to the pegs, but I'm not worried about the draw," Taiba said. "Like I said, he has improved since his first run back and I'm very happy with where he is at.

"That said, he will certainly be better again with this run under his belt."
