Exciting youngster's perfect return

EXCITING youngster The Lost Storm completed a perfect return to racing last night.

First-up since capturing a Vicbred Super Series Final in Melton on New Year's Eve, The Lost Storm trounced his rivals in Bendigo.

Naturally pleased with the three-year-old, trainer Emma Stewart described The Lost Storm's performance as "the ideal hit out before we head to Queensland".

Being readied for the Sunshine State's $150,000 Derby at Albion Park on July 22, the son of Captaintreacherous is scheduled to be sent north on Tuesday.

"We couldn't be happier with the way he has come up," Stewart said. "The long break has done him the world of good.

"Bendigo was the ideal hit out before we head to Queensland and he will derive a lot of benefit from it.

"He'll go to Queensland in a couple of days, which gives him plenty of time to settle in."

With Mark Pitt holding the reins, The Lost Storm worked to the lead from barrier five before cruising to an eight-metre win from Blake Bolac.

Chivalry was a neck away third.

Rating 1:57.4 over 2150 metres, The Lost Storm took his record to an imposing eight wins and two placings from 10 starts for a bankroll of $154,960.
