Favourable second round draws boost confidence
FAVOURABLE draws have boosted Jess Tubbs' confidence ahead of tomorrow night's second round of Inter Dominion heats.
Enjoying a highly-successful opening to the prestigious series in Ballarat during the weekend, Tubbs is predicted to repeat the dose on night two.
Just to recap, Tubbs captured two heats - one with trotter Just Believe and another with pacer Better Eclipse.
Showing his customary gate speed, Just Believe led throughout from barrier six.
This time the son of Orlandi Vici has fared better in three.
Coming from the pole, Better Eclipse also set the pace on his way to victory.
The four-year-old is a $1.90 favourite to produce a similar performance from barrier two.
Tubbs also has Triple Eight drawn two in the second pacing heat, while One Over All hasn't fared as well as his stablemates and will come from 10 in the third trotting heat.
"We had a bit of luck with draws on night one and have gotten some luck again on night two," Tubbs said.
"All the horses have pulled up well and are ready to go again.
"We are confident they will run good races, but we know never to get too confident."
