LAST weekend's Inter Dominion runner-up, Majestuoso has gained a form of consolation.

After leading from barrier five in the Trotters' Final, Majestuoso was out-muscled by Just Believe along the home straight to be beaten by a half-neck.

Just Believe success in the decider resulted in him completing a clean sweep of the Championship.

Fast forward to tonight's Cranbourne meeting and Majestuoso has proven too good in the Group One Bruce Skeggs Memorial.

With Kate Gath holding the reins, Majestuoso was given time to settle into his stride after being inconvenienced during the score-up before being sent forward to test the front runner, Hopeful Beauty, from the 'death seat'.

Forging his way to the lead during the latter stages, the son of Majestic Son scored by a metre-and-a-half from Hopeful Beauty.

Powderkeg was a metre-and-a-half away third.

“We got to pop around at the right time and his class just proved too strong," Gath said.

Rating 2:00.9 over 2555 metres, the squaregaiter provided Gath and her trainer-husband, Andy, with the middle leg of a treble.

Earlier on the card the couple scored with Chinese Whisper before Sanday proved too slick.
