Freshman remains unbeaten with Dream Maker Series win
TALENTED freshman Dean B Hanover maintained his perfect record with a stylish win in Monday’s $88,500 Dream Maker Series Final at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Piloted by Johnathan Drury, Dean B Hanover fired off the gate from post position eight to find his position as his stablemate Captainofrocknroll took the top spot and had the field chasing him through the opening quarter of 26.4 seconds.
Dean B Hanover was parked third through that first panel but he quickly zipped to the front and led the field to the half in 56 seconds.
Drury used the 28.3-second third quarter to hustle the field to the three-quarter pole in 1:24.3 before Dean B Hanover was able to fend off his challengers to cross the line in 1:52.4
“I thought one might get by us in the stretch, but Dean B just stuck his nose out and kept digging to the wire” said Drury. “He’s a great colt – he fought right to the wire”.
