FORMER stable star Hurricane Harley will attempt to complete a triumphant return tonight.

A Group One winner for record-breaking horsewoman Emma Stewart, Hurricane Harley was transferred to Western Australian trainer Justin Prentice in early 2021.

Producing his best with three wins from his first five starts on the other side of the Nullarbor, Hurricane Harley lost all form before being sidelined for 10 months.

Disappointing during his three comeback outings late last season, Hurricane Harley was transported back to Stewart in November.

Absent from the winners' circle since scoring at Gloucester Park on December 2, 2021, the son of Bettors Delight is engaged in a Mercury80 heat at Tabcorp Park Melton.

"He's had a few issues during the past couple of years, but seems pretty happy, healthy and sound at the moment," Stewart said.

"We are happy with where he is at and expect a good run from him."

To be driven by in-form reinsman Mark Pitt, Hurricane Harley has drawn barrier nine, but will begin from the outside of the front row - eight - in the 1200-metre dash.

TAB Fixed Odds have the stallion listed on the third line of betting at $7, with classy four-year-old Catch A Wave the $1.75 favourite from gate seven.

Fire Fox splits the pair at $2.50 from barrier six.
