ONCE touted as Australia's most exciting pacer, Bondi Lockdown will attempt to resurrect his career this weekend.

Restricted to six starts last season, Bondi Lockdown won the Four-Year-Year Bonanza at Tabcorp Park Melton before producing an unbelievable run in defeat in the Chariots Of Fire.

After racing in the 'death seat', the Aaron Dunn-trained entire was second behind Better Eclipse, beaten a metre in 1:47.6.

Unplaced in the Miracle Mile at his following start, Bondi Lockdown was given a well-earned spell, but failed to recapture his best at three subsequent outings.

Sent back to a paddock after finishing last in the Smoken Up Sprint in October, Bondi Lockdown has since been transferred to New South Wales horsewoman Belinda McCarthy by Dunn, who owns the son of Somebeachsomewhere.

Searching for another tilt at the Miracle Mile, the Australian Pacing Gold purchase will make his debut for McCarthy at Club Menangle on Saturday night.

Australia's premier sprint, the $1million Garrards Miracle Mile is scheduled to be run at the world class venue on March 4.

"Belinda is very happy with him," Dunn said. "She expects him to go pretty close on Saturday night.

"Barrier 10 isn't ideal, but that's how it goes. It's over 2300 metres, which gives him time to be put into the race.

"Obviously he's not fully wound up yet and whatever he does this time he will improve on.

"The plan is to get him ready for the Newcastle Mile on February 17 as a way into the Miracle Mile a couple of weeks later."
