Heat winner will find it tough in Final
ALTHOUGH an impressive heat winner, Hezrockinroyalty will find it tough in the Final this weekend.
That's the call from trainer Alan Cronin ahead of Saturday night's Four and Five-Year-Old Classic at Globe Derby.
Cronin's element of doubt stems from Hezrockinroyalty's draw after the son of Rock N Roll Heaven received barrier 10.
"He won the heat well," Cronin said. "I thought it was one of his best performances. The way he travelled, put it all together and was strong at the end was really pleasing.
"He's pulled up great and ready to go again, but the draw has made it tough.
"Delightfull Tammy, which won the other heat, is the main danger, but she's drawn the back row with us and some of those on the front showed they will take some beating.
"David Harding's horse (Hasty Bid), for example, will no doubt improve from last week and has drawn well in the pole.
"That said, I am pleased with my bloke, and hopefully on Saturday night, he can do it again."
Later on the card Cronin will also be represented by Hezrockinroyalty's younger half-brother Hez So Royal.
Boasting two wins and a second from four starts, Hez So Royal will begin from gate four over 1800 metres.
"I'm really looking forward to him going around as I like him a lot," Cronin said. "He is an entirely different type to Royalty, but is similar ability-wise.
"Royalty is a big, bold going, take no prisoner type, while the other one is smaller, polite and well-mannered...they're like chalk and cheese.
"If you stood them next to each other you'd never know they are brothers, that's for sure.
"He is fairly forward and I expect him to run a really nice race."
