Hoping for a case of third time lucky
CONNECTIONS of quality filly Rockinwithattitude are hoping for a case of 'third time lucky' this weekend.
Although widely-considered the best of her crop, Rockinwithattitude has been found wanting during her two Group One appearances.
On the first ocassion the David Miles-trained trotter was severely checked and lost all winning chance at the top of the home straight during Maryborough's famed Redwood Classic.
Rockinwithattitude was then given no peace in front during the Breeders' Crown only to produce arguably the season's best losing performance when runner-up behind Susan Is Her Name.
This time around the daughter of Aldebaran Eagle is engaged in a Vicbred Super Series Final at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night.
Rockinwithattitude heads into the $100,000 event fresh from her heat success in Maryborough on December 19.
"She hasn't had much luck in her Group One starts, but hopefully this time will be different," Miles said.
"On paper it is her race to lose, but they don't run on paper!
"She is going into it feeling as good as ever and in my opinion bad luck is the only thing that can beat her."
To be driven by Miles, Rockinwithattitude has drawn barrier four, but slots into three with the removal of the emergency.
TAB Fixed Odds have the two-year-old as a $1.40 favourite, with Trady Ladie considered the main danger at $4.40 from gate 10.
Later on the card Miles will be represented by Our Princess Di in the two-year-old pacing division.
"She is a handy filly, but this is a pretty strong field," Miles said. "With some luck from barrier two she could sneak a placing."
