Hoping for Christmas bonus

POPULAR horsewoman Tiana McMahon is hoping for an early Christmas present tonight.

McMahon has Agirl With Secrets engaged in the SA Sires' Stake Classic at Globe Derby, which she prepares and owns.

Victory in the feature will not only provide McMahon with a festive bonus, but her biggest success as a trainer.

"It would be a great way for her to break her maiden," McMahon said. "She's had four starts, been consistent in each of them and is working towards that first win.

"With Christmas just around the corner it would be perfect timing too!"

To be deriven by McMahon's partner, Tony Pullicino, Agirl With Secrets has drawn perfectly in the pole again just three rivals.

Selected to finish third by tipsters, the daughter of Major Secret is capable of claiming the event according to McMahon.

"Her work has been great and she's in perfect condition," McMahon said. "The draw gives Tony options and certainly puts her in a position to get the best run of the race.

"I'm confident without being cocky as I think she is ready to get that win on the board."
