Hoping for perfect result
Elle Perfecto

CONNECTIONS of Elle Perfecto hope the result of her pending assignment matches her name.

Translated to 'The Perfect' in Spanish, the two-year-old is engaged in the final event on Saturday night's Melton card.

Already building a respectable tally of three wins and two seconds from seven starts, Elle Perfecto is expected to add to her record for trainer Damien Burns.

"She's going well," Burns said. "We are pretty happy with her so far.

"She has shown ability from day one and is getting better as she goes along.

"I had her older brother, which won two of his three starts before going amiss, so I know a bit about the breed."

To be driven by Burns, the daughter of Elite Stride is a $2.40 favourite from barrier six.

A last start winner in Melton, Elle Perfecto slots into five as a result of a scratching.

Hallebesofine, also a last start winner for trainer Daryl Crone, is considered the main danger at $3.20 from gate four.

"She has been pretty reliable and I can't see any reason for that to change," Burns said. "I think she has a very good chance again as she is racing similar opposition to what been up against.

"These small fields can be tricky at times, but I'm pretty confident with her."
