Horror draw puts perfect record at risk

UNDEFEATED filly Got My Eye On You is going to need "plenty of luck" if she is to maintain her perfect record this weekend.

Winner of her two starts for rising star trainer Sam Hewitt, Got My Eye On You is engaged in a Breeders' Challenge Blue Final at Club Menangle.

To Hewitt's dismay, the two-year-old has drawn the widest in the $100,000 feature over a mile!

Got My Eye On You received barrier 12, but slots into 10 with the removal of the emergencies.

"I was very disappointed when she got 12," Hewitt said. "It makes it a lot harder.

"Hopefully there is a fair bit of speed on and she can get past a few late.

"She has done everything we've asked so far, is doing a really good job, but this is a big task."

While his confidence has been dented by Got My Eye On You's starting position, Hewitt is yet to concede defeat.

"If she had drawn closer to the pegs I would have considered her a good chance, vying for favouritism even, but out there, we are now relying on luck," Hewitt said.

"We'll still have a crack anyway and hope things go our way."
