IT WAS a case of 'third time lucky' for quality filly Rockinwithattitude which captured an overdue Group One at Tabcorp Park Melton just moments ago.

Although widely-considered the best of her crop, Rockinwithattitude had been found wanting during her two previous top shelf appearances.

On the first occasion the David Miles-trained trotter was severely checked and lost all winning chance at the top of the home straight during Maryborough's famed Redwood Classic.

Rockinwithattitude was then given no peace in front during the Breeders' Crown only to produce arguably the season's best losing performance when runner-up behind Susan Is Her Name.

This time around the daughter of Aldebaran Eagle secured a Vicbred Super Series Final much to the delight of Miles.

"She hasn't had much luck in her Group One races before tonight and has certainly earned this," Miles said. "I don't think anyone could say she doesn't deserve it.

"On paper it was her race to lose and thankfully she was able to come away with the win."

Driven by Miles, Rockinwithattitude led throughout from barrier four to account for Valerie Lane and Aldebaran Miley in 1:57.9 over 2240 metres.

"She's an amazing filly," Miles said. "She doesn't feel like she's going as quickly as she is, and even up the home straight she was looking at the tents, flags and so on without truly concentrating.

"It got close at the finish, but she had plenty more there...in fact, she wanted to get going again when got Kerryn (Manning, Valeria Lane) got up to her passed the line.

"I will give her a long spell now and hopefully she can come back just as good and be ready for the big races next season."
