VICTORIANS dominated proceedings during last night's Mount Gambier meeting.

With several border-hopping stables in action, raiders captured five of the eight races while also figuring among the placegetters in each event.

Popular trainer Rebecca East kick-started proceedings in the opening event when Eastbro Chrissy continued her impressive form at the provincial circuit.

Taking her record to four wins from six starts at the track, Eastbro Chrissy rated 2:00.1 over 1780 metres.

The daughter of Alta Christiano was runner-up during her other two visits.

Matthew Craven then prepared Jumpingjoy to score in 2:00.2 in what was the opening leg of a double for the Group One winning horseman.

Craven was successful later on the card with Crime Writer, with both partnered by rising star concession driver Hannah Lewis.

Marnie Bibby via consistent mare Starzinheryes and David Lewis with Metro Assassin rounded out the Victorian triumphs.

Locals offered some resistance thanks to Steven Fennell's handy youngster Stormy Woods, Alyse Finnis' promising filly, Gold In Paris, and David Drury's trotter, Earl Patrick.

Breaking his maiden at his 22nd outing, Earl Patrick accounted for Surprise To Me and Perserveranse in 2:09.7 over 2190 metres.
