SIR JIMMY

ANOTHER feature card and another successful raid for Emma Stewart...it just seems that simple!

A frequent cross-border visitor, the premier Victorian trainer tackled three of last night's main events at Globe Derby and returned home with a pair of winners and a second.

Since 2015 HRSA has conducted 42 races offering prizemoney of $50,000 or more, with Stewart and her partner, Clayton Tonkin, winning 18.

Of the 42, however, Tonkin and Stewart have only contested 21, giving them an astonishing strike rate of 85.7 per cent in SA's richest races.

Stewart and Tonkin's haul includes all three of The Allwood Finals in 2019, '20 and '21 - the only $100,000 events in the state since the 2018 SA Cup, which they also won with Shadow Sax!

The pair have also won the likes of SA's Derby and Oaks, a host of Southern Cross Finals, along with other supporting features.

As for their latest venture, Stewart and Tonkin secured The Veterinary Surgeons Cup and Sapling Stake.

Driven by Wayne Hill, Sir Jimmy sustained a strong three-wide run in the Cup to outclass his rivals in 1:55.9 over 2230 metres as Hezrockinroyalty and Bellezza Nera filled the placings.

"We sent him over with the view of qualifying for the SA Cup in a few weeks and it worked out perfectly," Stewart said. "He'll definitely be back for that later in the month."

Stewart and Hill then combined to score with Shoreline Dream, which led throughout from the pole.

Never seriously challenged, the two-year-old strode to a six-metre win from Centrefold Star, with Steam Machine 10 metres away third.

"He's a nice little colt," Stewart said. "This race was an ideal target for him as he was first-up from a long spell and is primarily owned in South Australia, which gave his owners a chance to get to the track and watch him.

"He'll also be back when another suitable race comes along."
