Majestic Man

NEW Zealand raider Majestic Man is expected to have little trouble ending his Australian campaign on a winning note.

Making the trek across the Tasman in late January, Majestic Man announced his arrival by capturing the V L Dullard Cup in a Tabcorp Park Melton track record 1:55.4 over 2240 metres.

Last weekend the squaregaiter finished the Victorian leg of his Aussie tour by securing the Australian Trotters’ Grand Prix.

On Saturday night Majestic Man will make his New South Wales debut in the Trotters’ Mile at Club Menangle.

The Group One will be the gelding’s sixth and final outing before heading back to the Shaky Isles.

With leading horseman Phil Williamson’s son Brad the caretaker trainer, Majestic Man has registered two wins, two placings and a fourth – all at Group One level!

“It’s been a good trip here,” Brad said. “The Dullard Cup was my first Group One win and to leave Victoria with two Group Ones is a great result.

“It would be fantastic if he can add one more at Menangle on Saturday night before he heads home.”

To Brad’s delight Majestic Man has drawn to utilise his blistering gate speed from barrier three.

With the removal of the second emergency the son of Majestic Son will begin from gate two.

TAB Fixed Odds reacted by listing the six-year-old as a raging $1.55 favourite.

Pink Galahs is considered the biggest threat at $8.50 from barrier five.

“I’m very happy with the draw,” Brad said. “He’s shown how fast he is out of the gate and I will be using that earl toe to find the front.

“It’s hard to say what kind of time they will run, but I imagine it will be under 1:53.”
