Make or break time for Inter prospect
IT'S make or break time for Wolf Stride's Inter Dominion campaign.
Set to contest the free-for-all at Club Menangle tonight, the multiple Group One winner has to perform at his best to warrant pressing ahead towards the prestigious Championship.
Successful when first-up from a spell on October 8, Wolf Stride was then a modest fifth in the Len Smith Mile three weeks ago.
Scratched from last week's open class event, Wolf Stride is in danger of missing the Victorian trip according to owner Emilio Rosati.
Inter Dominion heats begin in Ballarat on November 26.
"We had to scratch him last week because his white cells were all buggered," Rosati said. "There was no way we were going to risk him.
"He is fine now and will be ready to run a good race.
"This is his last chance to confirm he is going for Inter. At this stage he is coming, but that could change by the end of tonight...we'll know soon enough."
To be driven by Jack Trainor, Wolf Stride has drawn to return to the winners' circle from barrier three.
TAB Fixed Odds have the Darren Binskin-trained son of Rock N Roll Heaven listed as a $2.50 favourite, with Jay Ok considered the main danger at $3.40 from the pole.
"Darren is happy with his work and expects him to be ready to go," Rosati said.
