Milestone win for Team Teal
ALWAYS happy to get a win, Jordan Chibnall is even more elated with her latest success.
Guiding Magnetic Terror to his fourth consecutive victory, Chibnall's triumph marked a milestone for the Australian Teal Team.
Proving too good in 1:58.2 over 2150 metres, Magnetic Terror's win was the 100th since the teal pants campaign began on February 1.
Between February 1 and March 15, every reinswoman in Australasia sports specially-designed teal -pants to raise awareness and desperately-required funds for ANZGOG through donations made for each win during the campaign.
The Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group is the peak national gynaecological cancer research group in Australia and New Zealand, which have conducted world-leading clinical trials research for more than two decades.
ANZGOG's mission is to improve outcomes and quality of life for everyone with a lived experience of gynaecological cancer by conducting and promoting clinical trials and multidisciplinary research.
"Getting a win is always a reason to celebrate, but to do so during teal pants time just makes it all-the-more special," Chibnall said. "I really enjoy this time of the year as we are all doing our bit for such a worthy cause.
"To be part of such a special team of women all over Australia and New Zealand is a great honour, so chipping in with a win or two is fantastic."
Chibnall hopes Magnetic Terror can repeat the dose when he competes in Launceston on Sunday night.
"He's drawn barrier six, which is not ideal," Chibnall said. "He does have gate speed, so I will be looking to use it."
HOOFNOTE: Thanks to a sensational 48 hours since Chibnall's win, the Aussie Teal Team's tally sits on 115.
