Milestone win warms freezing reinswoman!
HEADING into last night's meeting just a win shy of a personal milestone, Jordan Chibnall had to wait until the final event on the card for her moment in the spotlight.
Landing a double in Launceston the previous evening, Chibnall was stranded on 199 wins before the Hobart program.
To the talented reinswoman's delight, she was given the chance to celebrate thanks to Ultimaction.
"It was nice to get there," Chibnall said. "Getting to 200 was a goal I set this year and I'm happy to have done it sooner than I expected.
"It was on top of the list of things I wanted to achieve this season.
"Others were winning a feature, which I've done, and it would be great to win the concession drivers' premiership again as I won it in 2021.
"I'm running second at the moment, with a win behind Mitch Ford."
After working hard to find the lead from barrier four, Ultimaction was never seriously challenged on her way to an 11-and-a-half metre win from Smiling Mia, with Le Betty 13 metres away third.
"It was freezing by the time the last race came around, but I felt nice and warm as we crossed the line," Chibnall said. "Once she got to the front she was always going to be hard to beat and she won with a bit up her sleeve."
Trained by Conor Crook, the daughter of Ultimate Machete rated 1:58.2 over 2090 metres to take her record to five wins and five placings from 12 starts.
