Mission impossible...but worth a crack!
LEADING trainer Ryan Hryhorec will channel his inner Ethan Hunt during the next five weeks.
Facing what appears to be a 'mission impossible', Hryhorec will aim for 150 wins this season.
Following a dominating performance at Globe Derby yesterday, where he prepared five winners on the 10-race card, Hryhorec's tally sits on 129.
There are only 12 local meetings remaining before the end of the year.
With a 167 placings also to his credit, Hryhorec's team has finished in the top three at a strike rate of 55.3 per cent.
Hryhorec's strike rate is actually weakened by often having multiple runners in a race!
For example, Hryhorec has eight winners from his last 10 starters, however, one of those 'losses' was to a stablemate.
Thrilled with the success his stable has enjoyed, Hryhorec revealed his original goal for the term was 102 wins, having registered a personal best 101 in 2023.
"At the start of the year I thought it would be good to simply go one better than my previous best," Hryhorec said. "To get to 130 wins is a massive result and I couldn't be prouder of the team.
"Moving the goal post to 150 is pretty much impossible given we only have five weeks to go, but I may as well have a crack.
"Spread out over the remainder of the year, it would require a double at every meeting, which is by no means an easy task!"
