Modest plans despite victory
PLANS remain modest with More Wanted despite his Melton victory.
Having his sixth start for trainer Vince Dicocco, More Wanted has notched a pair of wins and a second.
The trotter's initial triumph came upon debut for his new connections last December.
"That was his fourth start back after a short break and he is coming along nicely," Dicocco said. "We were very happy with his previous start when he was runner-up in Shepparton, so we expected him to run a good race.
"There is nothing specific picked out for him and I'll just find another suitable race during the next 10 or so days."
With John Caldow in the cart, More Wanted led throughout from barrier three to account for Tripod and Illawong Larajay.
Rating 1:57.3 over 1720 metres, the son of Creatine took his overall record to six wins and 14 placings from 37 starts for earnings of $87,100.
"After he got to the front we knew he would take a bit of running down," Dicocco said. "It got close on the line with Tripod coming at him along the sprint lane, but he held on well.
"He's done a good job for us so far and I can't see any reason why that won't continue to be the case.
"We were on the look out for a trotter and Shane Hoban found him for us and he's turning into a nice buy."
