FORMER New Zealander Belmont Major won Saturday night’s feature pace at Saratoga Raceway for trainer Amanda Kelley.

Driver Leon Bailey steered the son of Art Major to the win in 1:51.3 by a narrow margin.

Finishing strongly along the stretch, Belmont Major nipped Hudson Phil by a head, with uttin But Finesse third.

A six-year-old, Belmont Major has earned $197,610 thanks to 14 wins from 55 lifetime.

Local stable Scheigert and Allies Racing LLC own the gelding.
