Odds-on favourite in bid to create Inter history
OUTSTANDING squaregaiter Queen Elida is an odds-on favourite to create history this weekend.
Regarded by some as harness racing's latest Winx, Queen Elida is engaged in Saturday night's Inter Dominion Trotters' Final for trainer Brent Lilley.
The daughter of Love You earned her position in the elite Group One field with a pair of seconds and a win during last week's three heats.
Despite drawing barrier eight - the inside of the second row - Queen Elida heads TAB's Fixed Odds market at $1.90.
Should she justify the short quote Queen Elida will become the first four-year-old mare to capture the Championship since its inception in 1948.
As it stands, only two four-year-olds have managed to claim the title - Geffin in 1971 and Real Force in 1990.
Also a four-year-old, Mufasa Metro, which beat Queen Elida by a head during the third round qualifiers, is considered the biggest threat at $4 from gate two.
The son of Father Patrick slots into the pole with the removal of the emergency.
Despite being the only undefeated contender in the series, Just Believe is on the third line of betting at $5.50 from barrier 12.
