MULTIPLE Group One winning horseman Anton Golino admits he's feeling the pressure with Sheetweb Weaver heading into tomorrow night's Club Menangle meeting.

While the trotter is only engaged in a standard metropolitan event, Sheetweb Weaver's recent record is the catalyst for the nerves.

One of New South Wales' most improved performers, Sheetweb Weaver is unbeaten from six starts this season, having only won four of his previous 34 outings.

The wins were for his previous trainer, with the son of Yankee Spider poised to make his debut for Golino.

"He was very well-graded and Bruce (Birch) managed him terrifically," Golino said. "Bruce got him to perfect health and had him going great.

"Now the task for me is to keep him going just as well.

"He's a nice trotter, a gentleman to have at the stable and can certainly keep winning.

"Tomorrow night is a step up for him, but he's in the right condition to keep his streak going if everything goes his way."

To be driven by Luke McCarthy, Sheetweb Weaver has drawn the outside of the front line in the 2300-metre stand.

The six-year-old won from a 10-metre handicap over the same distance against lower grade opposition on March 18.

"He hasn't had a stand for a while, but does step well enough," Golino said. "We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out on the night."
