HASTY BID

CONNECTIONS of Hasty Bid hope his trend during the past couple of years will be broken moving forward.

Hasty Bid's last three wins have all been in September.

The son of Bettors Delight was triumphant at Albion Park in September 2023 and '24 before winning at Globe Derby last Saturday night.

In what was his second start for prominent South Australian horseman David Harding, Hasty Bid captured the Four and Five-Year-Old Classic.

Hasty Bid was runner-up in a series heat upon debut for Harding.

"He hadn't won in a while before the Final, but going on what he has shown so far, he will be well-suited in South Australia," Harding said.

"He's no star, but he got to a decent grade in Queensland before dropping down in points and he should be able to do the same here."

With Dani Hill in the cart, Hasty Bid led throughout from the pole to score by two-and-a-half metres from Hezrockinroyalty, with Delightfull Tammy three-and-a-half metres away third.

"He got into that race well given our local rating and was always going to be hard to beat," Harding said. "In the end it all worked out perfectly, as he has good gate speed, and we felt with the advantage of the draw he could give it a shake.

"His owner just bought him recently, so winning a race like this gives him a quick return.

"I rushed him a little knowing this series was on, so he won't race this week and I will look for something in a fortnight.

"There are a few more heats and Final type races, so I will line him up in a few of them and see where is at."
