PREMIER horseman Ryan Hryhorec registered a pair of milestones during the weekend.

Heading into Saturday night's Port Pirie meeting with an equal-best 101 training victories for the year, Hryhorec prepared a double to create a new benchmark.

Hryhorec's previous best came during the 2023 season.

With 140 placings also to his credit, Hryhorec's team has finished in the top three at a strike rate of 58.1 per cent.

Hryhorec's strike rate is actually weakened by often having multiple runners in a race!

"It is a huge result, especially given there are still a few months to go before the end of the season," Hryhorec said. "I'm pretty pumped about it.

"Bettering my best was one of the targets I gave some thought to at the start of the year.

"Then the team was going well early on in the season, so I started to think it was getable."

Hryhorec's next highlight came thanks to his second winner on the card - Lord Zarias - with the success his 100th local win for the term.

Driven by Gaita Pullicino, Lord Zarias rated a track record 1:56.7 over 2530 metres to score from Delightfull Tammy and Bellezza Nera.

"Getting 100 local wins is something I have wanted to do," Hryhorec said. "I've gotten into the 90s a couple of times, but haven't been able to crack the ton.

"I'm pretty proud of getting there this year and we've still got three months to build on it."
