Part one complete, now for part two!
PART one of a 12-month plan has been completed and now connections of Mister Americano hope he can manage a bit of a miracle tomorrow night.
Capturing an Australian Pacing Gold heat at Albion Park last week, Mister Americano will return to the venue for the $100,000 Final.
Purchased via APG's Brisbane Sale, the son of American Ideal was sent north by Victorian trainer Geoff Webster with two goals in mind.
One was to secure his Q-bred bonus, the other was the APG Final.
Mister Americano banked the bonus thanks to his heat success.
"It is quite pleasing as we bought him in Queensland because he has the Q-bred bonus and is Vicbred eligible as well," Webster said. "Now the first part of the plan from 12 months ago has worked out.
"If he can pick up the Final it would be an extraordinary result, but I think he is up against it as Fire And Passion looks like a superstar and I can't see him being beaten.
"The next part of his season is to come back to Victoria and get his bonus here."
To be driven by Adam Sanderson, Mister Americano has drawn barrier five, with Fire And Passion on his outside.
Mister Americano is listed as a $4.40 second favourite on TAB Fixed Odds, with Fire And Passion heading the market at $1.25.
"Like I said, it is hard to imagine Fire And Passion being beaten, but if he is, hopefully we are the ones that do it," Webster said.
