Perfect birthday celebrations

Perfect birthday celebrations
Taylah Osmond

PROMINENT concession reinswoman Taylah Osmond celebrated her birthday in style yesterday.

Reaching the milestone age of 21, Osmond drove a pair of winners at Club Menangle in what was her first double at Australia's premier track.

"I certainly celebrated my birthday in a great way," Osmond said. "I was rapt to get the first win and was stoked when I got the second one.

"I had three drives and felt they could all finish in the money if they got the right trip. The two that won got ideal trips and it worked out perfectly.

"That is my first double at Menangle...I should turn 21 everyday!"

Osmond opened her account when Our Rocky delivered a knock-out blow to his rivals with a 1:54.5 performance to score from A Vapar Storm and Parallel.

"David (White, trainer) has him racing so consistently and he deserved that win," Osmond said. "He won his previous start too, but before that he'd run nine placings from his 14 starts, so the wins have been earned."

Osmond then combined with the Mark Lefoe-trained Romanee, which covered the mile in 1:53 to account for Gimme A Reason and Sahara Sirocco.

"I gave him a strong chance before the race and he ran accordingly," Osmond said.
